The UGREEN AI NAS
Deposit Controversy

Hundreds of backers paid a $30 "VIP Access" deposit — some waiting over a year — only to report being unable to secure units during a chaotic public launch. This site documents their experiences in their own words.

Backer Grievances & Allegations

⚠️

"VIP Access" Promise Not Honored

Backers allege UGREEN solicited $30 deposits advertising priority access to purchase. Deposit holders report being thrown into open public competition, stripping the "VIP" designation of all meaning.

Alleged
📦

Insufficient Inventory for Deposit Holders

Wave 1: 100 units. Wave 2: 60 units. Wave 3: 40 units. Backers contend that with hundreds or thousands of deposit holders, UGREEN launched with inventory that could not satisfy the demand created by their deposit program.

💳

Deposits Collected, Priority Not Delivered

Backers report that UGREEN collected $30 from an undisclosed number of people, held those funds for up to a year, and returned them only after the launch — without providing the promised priority access.

Infrastructure Failure at Launch

Multiple backers report that despite a year of pre-launch marketing, the Kickstarter campaign became inaccessible at launch — preventing deposit holders from completing purchases during the critical window.

No Meaningful Priority Access Provided

Backers report receiving no unique links, no protected checkout window, and no chronological priority — experiencing the same access as any member of the public despite having paid for "VIP Access."

Compensation Widely Viewed as Inadequate

UGREEN offered a $100 discount on older-generation hardware as remedy. Many backers have characterized this as insufficient given they paid $30 for priority access to a $1,500+ device they were unable to secure.

Evidence: Backer Testimony (Verbatim)

EXHIBIT A
Mic**** Hi** Superbacker ~1 hour after launch

"I constantly refreshed the browser and right at 8:00 EDT, I saw that over half of the IDX6011 Pros were spoken for. Less than 30 seconds, more than half of them were gone. Nonsense of 'rewards is unavailable or other people are in the process of backing it'. There had to be a better way to do this. Feels like we put a deposit in to only reserve the privilege to fight over limited quantities... This was unnecessarily stressful and feels completely unplanned."

EXHIBIT B
Osm** EL-**** Deposit Holder ~2 hours after launch

"Waiting 1 year for the campaign after paying the $30 deposit only to find out that I am unable to pledge. That is a major organizational failure... if you already have a limited supply and the number of people who pre-reserved are more than you can handle then you keep it a private campaign and serve the people who reserved first in chronological order."

EXHIBIT C
Jos*** Sum**** Deposit Holder ~3 hours after launch

"iDX Pro Wave 1: 100 units, Wave 2: 60 units, Wave 3: 40 units. How are the supposedly 'VIP Access' holders supposed to get a unit if it's only that many and the general public can also snag them? We have paid USD 30 for that 'VIP Access' and have to battle with the general public? Something is not right here. We paid and we deserve that 'VIP Access'."

EXHIBIT D
And** Fra*** Depositor ~2 hours after launch

"A reservation system is supposed to reduce stress, not create more of it. People placed deposits because they thought they were getting a more protected and predictable path to buy. Instead, the wave system turned it into another scramble... The public wave announcement made this even worse. Once wave timing becomes public, the whole reservation system starts to lose credibility. A private preorder should stay private all the way through checkout."

EXHIBIT E
Edd** Confirmed Checkout Failure ~2 hours after launch

"I was able to get my pledge in, entered CC info, screen stated 'your pledge xxxx', then I get an email 1 minute later saying 'Uh-oh: The reward you wanted is all gone... Bad news: it looks like your pledge was not successful.' This whole process is a sh** show..."

EXHIBIT F
Pat**** Ryb**** Melbourne, AU ~6 hours after launch

"I am based in Melbourne, Australia, and I paid the preorder deposit specifically so I would have a fair chance to secure a unit at launch. The campaign had launched overnight in our time zone and sold out immediately because of an extremely limited allocation. That is not acceptable. Customers who placed deposits should have been given meaningful priority access. This approach is frustrating and damaging to customer trust."

EXHIBIT G
Sai* Jar**** Long-term Supporter ~2 hours after launch

"This is the third round that I can't even get a chance to get any of the available pledges. How about you send us private, one-time-use links to each one of us who paid way before? If you don't know how, you can ask your AI model to tell you how to create such a fair solution for your early supporters."

EXHIBIT H
Mal*** A. Bal* Superbacker ~7 hours after launch

"UGREEN, you knew exactly what would happen when this opened up to the general public. You had limited inventory and even less of those slots would be made available since you've broken it up into waves. Meaning, we would be competing globally with those that didn't back you, bots, site crashes, hanging webpages, and imminent refunds. You have been around long enough and should know better than to engage in this kind of shadiness."

EXHIBIT I
Epi***** Deposit Holder ~7 hours after launch

"Waited almost a year and paid the $30 deposit, only to fight like everyone else while the servers crashed. Canceling the promised free UPS and offering just $100 credit feels like a bad joke. Very disappointing and unfair, UGREEN."

EXHIBIT J
Paw** Pia***** Charged 7x Without Product ~5 hours after launch

"Today I have been 7 times debited for 364 USD and 7 times refunded. Last refund came about 15 minutes after units disappeared... The question is what the f*k are they doing with my card!"
